What sparks will fly when the two giants in the world of Chinese education meet? These questions will be explored at Global Education Summit (GES) 2017, to be held in Beijing on November 27-29. Guided by the theme “Global Technology Advancing Education,” this invite-only summit will bring together 300 edtech leaders from around the world for in-depth discussions on cutting-edge technologies and innovations.

此次GES未來教育大會是由中國發(fā)展研究基金會攜手北京師范大學(xué)、騰訊、GSV（全球硅谷投資公司）、好未來聯(lián)合主辦，經(jīng)國務(wù)院發(fā)展研究中心、中華人民共和國教育部直接指導(dǎo)。同時，大會與清華大學(xué)、ASU（亞利桑那州立大學(xué)）建立學(xué)術(shù)合作，攜手寶寶樹、VIPKID、科大訊飛和噠噠教育，借助先進(jìn)的騰訊云直播技術(shù)，致力于打造一場立足中國、影響世界的全球未來教育盛會。

值得關(guān)注的是，本次大會的籌備機(jī)構(gòu)ASU與GSV，同時也是美國“ASU-GSV”全球教育科技峰會的主辦方。據(jù)了解，“ASU-GSV”峰會的嘉賓陣容歷來重磅，美國前國務(wù)卿賴斯、微軟創(chuàng)始人比爾·蓋茨、可汗學(xué)院創(chuàng)始人薩爾曼·可汗等橫跨政商科教各領(lǐng)域均曾出席。因此，GES大會嘉賓陣容也絕對值得期待。據(jù)主辦方介紹，除了國務(wù)院發(fā)展研究中心主任李偉、中國發(fā)展研究基金會副理事長兼秘書長盧邁、北京師范大學(xué)校長董奇、哈佛大學(xué)副教務(wù)長包弼德、斯坦福大學(xué)教授羅斯高等數(shù)百位來自國際政商界、教育科技界的領(lǐng)英人物將集體亮相外，國內(nèi)外知名科幻作家劉慈欣、果殼網(wǎng)創(chuàng)始人姬十三、騰訊公司主要創(chuàng)辦人及一丹獎創(chuàng)辦人陳一丹等公眾耳熟能詳?shù)娜宋镆矊⒌綀?，以新鮮、有趣的視角，給大家分享技術(shù)變革、互聯(lián)網(wǎng)教育所創(chuàng)構(gòu)的奇妙世界。

GES 2017 is hosted by the China Development Research Foundation, Beijing Normal University, Tencent, GSV Capital, and TAL Education Group, and is under the direct guidance of the Development Research Center of the State Council and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Academic partners Tsinghua University and Arizona State University will work with Baby Tree, VIPKID, iFLYTEK and DadaABC using Tencent’s live-streaming cloud platform to bring GES from China to the world.

It is worth noting that two of the organizations behind GES—Arizona State University and GSV—are also the eponymous hosts of the annual ASU + GSV Summit held in the United States. Their historical roster of big-name speakers from diverse sectors—including former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and Khan Academy founder Salman Khan— promises an equally impressive line-up for GES 2017, featuring our special guest. The attendee list for this year’s Summit is comprised of hundreds of leading figures from the worlds of politics, business and education, including Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council Li Wei, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the China Development Research Foundation Lu Mai, President of Beijing Normal University Dong Qi, Vice Provost at Harvard University Peter K. Bol, Stanford University professor Scott Rozelle, renowned science fiction writer Liu Cixin, Guokr founder Ji Shisan, and Chen Yidan, one of the core founders of Tencent and the creator of the Yidan Prize in education research and development. They will share their interesting insight on the ways technology and online education are transforming the world.

In recent years, fast paced economic development has driven a widespread application of technology in the education sector. New technology and innovations in teaching and research have become the driving force behind future education.
